Throne for Two

Design Sprint

Instructions

  1. Explore Seating Possibilities: Investigate various seating arrangements suitable for accommodating two or more people. Consider options such as low-to-the-ground seating, elevated seating, bean bags, stools, folding chairs, and more. Research three different examples of seating designs that inspire you and could serve as precedents for your project. Utilize the provided resources at the end of this presentation for additional inspiration.

  2. Brainstorm and Sketch: Engage in a collaborative brainstorming session to generate ideas for your dual-seating design. Create 1-2 sketches together, incorporating features and elements drawn from the researched precedents. Explore different configurations and functionalities that could enhance the seating experience for two people.

  3. Prototype Development: Select one of your sketches to transform into a tangible prototype. Utilize the available materials to bring your design concept to life. Ensure that your prototype meets the specified design requirements, including a model size equivalent to your hand and the capacity to comfortably seat at least two individuals.

  4. Sharing and Reflection: Capture photographs of both your initial sketches and the final prototype. Prepare to share your design process, highlighting key insights and challenges encountered along the way. Reflect on the collaborative experience and the evolution of your design ideas throughout the activity.

Through this design exploration, you'll delve into the creative possibilities of dual-seating solutions while honing your prototyping skills.
